for everyone

Set in India, a story of a poor boy who won at Who wants to be a millionaire, made structurally interesting by intercuts to the said game show and flashbacks to the past. Fast, throbbing and at the same time poignant. No spoilers here but we should all know why the hero knows the answers to the questions and why the movie is told in flashbacks. This was helmed by Danny Boyle, yes Danny Boyle that hip director who directed my favorite and ultra-cool "Trainspotting" and "28 days later".
My insight: this film could have been a poignant, heartfelt, and yes...uhmmm, really slow film given the material. BUT this movie is directed and treated with respect, style and coolness. Slumdog Millionaire is a stylized film about poverty and violence that married heartwarming content, arresting visuals and commanding style much like City of God but this time with a young underdog hero whose "love story" we are witnessing.
Never thought a film about love, the triumph of the human spirit, grit and garbage could feel like breath of fresh air in the midst of slow cerebral and pseudo poignant films about poverty.
I looooved it!!!
